(English) In August 2019, I spent a month in a town: Mugi-cho, Tokushima. Throughout this experience, I gradually came to see the problem of population decline, and how local people felt about it. I came to wonder what I could do as an ”outsider”, who originally had no ties to the town. I will talk about what I learned during the stay, and about the potential of what an “outsider” can do. (Japanese) 2019年8月、私は徳島県牟岐町という地域で一か月を過ごしました。この経験を通じて、地域が直面している「人口減少」という現象と、変化に向き合う町の方々の気持ちを、私は少しずつ知りました。そして、もともと全く町と縁もゆかりもなかった「よそもの」の私が「人口減少」に対してできることは何だろうと考えさせられました。一か月の生活を通して感じたことや、「よそもの」だからこそできることの可能性をお伝えできればと思っています。
