Dominik is an alumni of the University of St. Gallen (HSG) who followed a very unusual career path for a graduate from a business school. After finishing his studies he joined the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), where he served 15 years in the field, primarily in Africa, the Balkans and the Middle East. He was then posted to the ICRC headquarters in Geneva and in 2014 he was appointed Director of Operations, responsible for all field activities globally. In his talk Dominik explains his motivation to join the ICRC, the key moments of his career and the importance of the humanitarian sector in today's society.
