The Fierce Urgency of Now Demands Finding Your Inner Agitator

Arthur Cutler is a Nonprofit Executive that works in Washington DC and lives in Prince Georges County, Maryland with his wife and a son and daughter. As Arthur Cutler watched the George Floyd video play, he like millions around the world was astonished and angry. More importantly, it was the continued cases of police brutality and vigilante justice perpetuated on men of color that became too overwhelming. Unfortunately, it was at this moment he realized despite all of his hard work of being an advocate, a mentor, an agitator, progress seemed to have been regressing and he sought other solutions. More importantly, Arthur also realized he now realized as the father of a growing pre-teen, it was just not his life that was in danger, but that of his son’s. The future of “Men of Color” would need the cooperation of everyone understanding the what Dr. King called, “The Fierce Urgency of Now” there "is" such a thing as being too late.” This is no time for apathy or complacency. This is a time for vigorous and positive action.” Arthur candidly speaks about his fear of being a father and having “The Talk” a candid conversation for young teens of color and the rules associated with their interaction with law enforcement. But most of all he provides a proactive theory of how each person is empowered to be an ally of people of color and be empowered to engage even as a person of color by finding their “Inner Agitator”. Arthur believes that there are moments, causes and events in our lifetime that mandates a change in the norms, and he seeks to serve as an Agitator Recruiter. He is a believer that to combat hate, racism, and issues like social justice and police brutality we all must work together.
